Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Steve started his first restaurant job as a curb hop at a local fast food restaurant at the age of 13. Later in high school, he worked as a busser and stocker at a popular Italian restaurant, Vince Perone’s.


After graduating high school and being accepted to attend school at Clemson University it was in his sophomore year that he started working for the Pollard family at the popular restaurant Calhoun Corners. Beginning as a server he worked his way up the ranks and was promoted to manager, a position he held throughout college.


It was at this point that he moved back to Greenville and managed Seven Oaks, a very elegant four-star restaurant. With a yearning for the big city, he  moved to Atlanta, GA taking a position  in management at Lloyd’s Restaurant located at Lenox Mall. it was during this time one of his wine distributors, House of Wines in Charleston, SC, offered him a job in sales. The position was for the Hilton Head Island/Beaufort, SC area servicing restaurants and hotels. He relocated to Hilton Head Island, SC, to expand his opportunities and knowledge working in the Food and Beverage industry.


In early 2002, Steve began working for the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group at Kyma, one of the top Greek restaurants in the country. In December 2004, he was appointed to manage The Atlanta Fish Market, one of the most popular restaurants in Atlanta, with gross sales totaling $16.5 million in 2005. In early 2005, he was also appointed Beverage Director.


In October 2006, Steve accepted the position of Director of Food & Beverage for the 208 room Crowne Plaza Atlanta-Buckhead (owned and operated by Noble Investment Group), and  held that position until February 2008, when the Crowne Atlanta-Buckhead was closed for $100 million renovation and re-opened as a W Hotel, owned and managed by Starwood Properties.


After a short sabbatical, Steve accepted the position of Director of Food and Beverage at the 328 room Georgian Terrace Hotel and General Manager of Livingston Restaurant in Midtown Atlanta. His responsibilities included the $4.5 million re-launch of all Food and Beverage outlets and successful opening of Livingston Restaurant and Bar.


Moving to Tallahassee in September 2009, Steve as General Manager/Head Coach, opened Shula’s 347 in Hotel Duval, a Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel. He was then promoted to Director of Food & Beverage for Hotel Duval in 2010 and eventually promoted to Corporate Director of Food & Beverage for Hunter + Harp Hospitality in March 2011.


Steve was elected President of the Tallahassee Chapter of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association for 2014 and was VP of Restaurants for 2013 and 2012. He was a State Executive Board Member of the FRLA and was involved with, and contribute to, many community and charity organizations through Hunter + Harp including Leon County Humane Society, Cards for a Cure, Kids Across America, Living Well in Tallahassee, YMCA, and numerous others.

Steve spent the last two years and a half working for Club Corp running the Harbour Club in Charleston, SC. and in 2017 joined Callaway Resort & Gardens as Director of Outlets.


Steve is married, enjoys cooking, snow skiing, and collecting art. He is also a member of the Court of Masters Sommeliers and a Certified Sommelier.
